Imagine, ABQ started with a vision from David Meyers, a local Albuquerque Fire Department chaplain and Larry “Lencho” Espinoza, who believed that a united community could transform our city. What began as a small initiative has grown into a full-fledged movement, now supported by 11 board members and recognized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
Our mission has expanded beyond annual events to include ongoing beautification efforts, such as murals, pathways, and overlooked spaces. We’re not just cleaning up—we’re building a culture of pride and responsibility.
Our Vision
At Imagine, ABQ, we envision an Albuquerque where every resident feels a deep connection to their community and plays an active role in preserving and enhancing the city's beauty. We believe that even small acts of care can lead to lasting change, and that by working together, we can create a cleaner, greener, and more welcoming environment for current and future generations.
Our vision is to foster a culture of pride and responsibility, where people from all walks of life come together to make Albuquerque the best it can be. Whether through hands-on efforts like cleaning up local parks and streets, or creative projects that transform neglected spaces into vibrant public art, we are building a city where everyone has the opportunity to contribute and feel proud of the place they call home.
